About The Trinity School

The Trinity School is a unique, yet traditional school for children from 1 year old to eighth grade. It is a place where the name of Jesus is freely spoken and Christian morals are considered to be an important part of the whole education of children. The atmosphere is casual and family oriented. It does not take long for new students and their parents to feel that they are an important part of a school. The partnership of parents and teachers results in the forming of good habits that will stay with children for life.

Students from The Trinity School excel academically. There is a focus on “time on task” and few classroom interruptions are tolerated. Instruction is designed for the academic levels of students with priority being given to meeting individual needs in learning. All students are taught at their highest and best levels of performance. Parents of children in private, Christian schools realize the importance of providing an environment rich in moral teaching and positive examples. Though The Trinity School is a Christian based school, sponsored by Trinity United Methodist Church, the teachings are universally Bible based. No right or extreme left dogma is taught, and children from all Christian faiths feel comfortable learning about the love of God together. The atmosphere provides both parents and students with a small community environment.

Teachers at The Trinity School are dedicated and consider their role to be that of counselor and spiritual leader, as well as teacher. They enjoy teaching and their joy spills over into the classroom. Smiling faces, in depth discussions, hands-on experiences, and peer learning can be found in every classroom.

Students at The Trinity School come from all walks of life. Many are members of Trinity United Methodist Church, but even more come from the community at large. The school is an outreach program of the church, and as such, scholarships are provided to deserving students. All parents of children receiving scholarships are required to volunteer for the school. Some volunteer by working in the office, others help during the summer to prepare for the coming year, and many help teachers in the classrooms and on field trips. Scholarships are awarded according to need. The number of scholarships is limited by the budget available for them. Through the help of outside donors, the school will be able to meet the needs of more children.

Public schools are not able to meet the needs of all children. Some children, though they have normal intelligence, may need the advantages offered by individualized attention and smaller classes, where confidence is the result of building upon success. Boys, particularly, often have difficulties conforming to the norms and expectations of large classes. The advanced student is often help back until the rest of the class can master a skill. This practice causes poor study habits and can lead to misbehavior, anger and boredom. Conversely, students who are given enough positive reinforcement and who experience success at the appropriate level will develop confidence in their own abilities and will make their way in the world without violence, rage, or frustration. The Trinity School has proven itself to have the capacity to challenge the advanced child, deal with disobedience that originates with a poor match between child and instructional techniques, and encourage the struggling student to excel.

Students with special needs are welcomed into the school family. Some students have experienced the harder side of life, having been adopted into families out of DEFACS situations. Their requirements differ from children experiencing learning difficulties. They benefit greatly from the Christian atmosphere and the loving environment. Visible changes in the lives of children result from the security and unwavering love found in the school. One of the students who has a physical defect has found acceptance at The Trinity School. She had experienced humiliation in public schools. Struggling students have found success and have made significant improvement in the educational atmosphere of the school. All children in The Trinity School know what they are treasured and loved.

The Trinity School has been in existence for more than 10 years. Each year it has expanded and served more children than the previous year. The impact will be felt on the Bartow County community for years to come!
